Next Meeting : Thursday the 28th August, at the Water Sport Centre at Strathclyde Country Park from 7pm to 8.30pm

This meeting is also for any other members who wish to become involved with the council.

I have been able to secure money for two projects for the YC to be involved in-

  • To design and produce in association with SACU, a National leaflet for all

RECREATIONAL Clubs about a Code of Conduct for off-road machines

  • To produce a Member’s VOLUNTEER Certificate associated with Volunteer Centre,

North Lanarkshire

In addition there is the opportunity to attend a National Youth Coaching Course which will

be provided by VCNL and will require attendance over a number of weeks.

As you will be aware that Lyndon Moffat has retired from producing the YC Web site, so we

are looking for someone, or a small group to take over this important part of the clubs

information service to the membership and training will be provided.

We also have some other events such as the Club’s Carbon Tree Planting in November and

we are looking for your ideas for this year’s annual awards

The club wishes to promote the Youth Council as an important part of giving young

members a voice in the running of the club

What is the Youth Council?

NLSQBC –YC was set up to give members a collective voice on the running of the club, to

bring ideas and suggestions to the club Directors, as to their views and concerns

What role does it play?

Well the YC have an important role in representing the wider membership views, to take

responsibility for organising some events and represent the club at various forums etc

Why should I join it?

In joining the YC this will allow you to be part of a team committed to promoting your hobby

at all levels, you will have the opportunity to develop your personal skills, receive training,

and to attend various events representing your club

If you can’t make the meeting but would like to be included on the YC then please let me

know on e-mail on www.reidro@northlan.gov.uk

Regards Bob
