Training
This club believes strongly in helping with the development and training of all its members and we offer a number of training opportunities.

Our Courses include - First Aid Training, Motorcycle Maintenance, Winter Maintenance, Clerk of the Course, Environmental Officers, Child Protection training and many more.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
First Aid
We offer regular training courses for first Aiders. These are fully funded by the club and all we ask is that you commit to acting as a first aider on our event dates. Check the Calendar for dates or speak to Bob Reid.
Beginner Training Events
These are held at the beginning of every year to introduce new club members to the track and the way we run our event days. A great chance to meet some of the members and get assessed before the start of the event season. These will be advertised on the Web closer to the time - Check Calendar dates Jan/Feb/March
What you need to know for beginner training:
- Check club web site www.nlsqbc.com on the morning, say by 10 -30am If the weather has been extreme before, or on the date, then the event may be cancelled check before you leave.
- Bring warm clothes Balbackie is 700ft above sea level and can be a cold place
- The Map is on the web site, when you arrive at the entrance, you will see a No Entry Sign just drive past it, follow the ash track until you come to the pits area
- Because of the short time we will be on site, there won’t be toilets
- If the weather is frosty be aware that the road from Harthill to Fauldhouse is a road which may not be salted
MV Award (Delivered by the Club)
The Club is also offering the MV Award, an opportunity for club members aged between 16 and 25 year of age to attaining a National recognised Volunteer Award (go to www.volunteerscotland.org.uk to find out more) If interested, we can provide advice and the registration form- Assisting in the running of the club Youth Council, Coaching, Big Brother /Sister Programme or assisting at Events and Track Maintenance days.
John Muir Award
(Delivered by Bob Reid) We also provide the opportunity for any member to obtain their John Muir Environment Award through our Club Environment and Carbon Neutral Policies. All you need to do is register your interest, and we can get you started. The award only takes three months to complete, pick up an information form from the Caravan.
Motherwell College Machine Maintenance Course
We regularly offer a fixed length motorcycle maintenance course for members. These are subsidised by the club and a valuable starter for anyone getting onto the sport. These are subject to the level of interest - speak to Bob if you are interested.

Our Connections ...
We are affiliated to Volunteer Development Scotland and Volunteer Centre North Lanarkshire who provide many training opportunities in many different fields of interest. Any young person and Adult member can access many of these in aiding their personal development and interests. Check out the Volunteer NL website and if any of the courses interest you then you can apply through the club.
The club is also affiliated member of the John Muir Trust who provide the John Muir Environmental Award for young people and families. We hope to give opportunities to members interested in completing the Leader Training Course It is over a weekend and great fun. Next course is springtime. Please register ASAP.
